i'll prefer boon hock. even he's in em3 classes, but he managed to work hard to get a good marks of mathematics subject. the moral values that showed in this movie will be an encouragement for people who always have a narrow-think.boon hock also tried to protect terry while they were being kidnapped by the ex-manager of terry's father company.
in my opinion,parents should raise their children with a harmony lifestyle. i mean in this context, they should give a lil bit of freedom to their children.they have to understand ,spend more times with them and not forcing the to do what they don't wanna to do.

He is a good person in this movie..=) Besides, In my opinion,some part in this movie shows the attitude of a father who felt that money can make their children happy such as the attitude of Terry's father that is not so good for his children like Terry and Selena. I also agree with rajaputeri, parents should give a little bit freedom to their children, spend more time with them..so their will felt appreciate and feel the love from their parents..

assalamualaikm..first i step into DEWAN SEMINAR, i remember on GOKUSEN story.
this story tell us many points
1. no one asked to be born as stupid n one actually stupid but the stupid is who did not want to improve themselves. i like boon hock characters. he knows his level and he make initiative to improve himself.as student we need to be alert n cope we all our studies or we will be left far away behind.
2. parents should know their child's ability. what their children can do n CAN'T do. we can't force kids to follow what we want. but we can guide them smoothly so they can accept our guidance. try to understand their condition, their problems and so on.
3. Terry, Kok Pin and Boon Hock show us their strong friendship. what ever happen, friend will be our side beside our parents right?? so appreciate our friends as well as you can.

l like this film so much..i think terry is a good person in the movie..he always and very2 always listen to his mother advice:)...when he want to do something he always remember that his mum said to him...so,when he listening to his mother advice..he will be a good person and leave a wrong action...btw, his mum should give be a liitle bit freedom and do not too compressed his children life..for my opinion..parents must know and understand what kind of their children..do not do their children like a slave..give a advice and do not to force too follow a law..
For me i most prefer to boon hock because he m0re independent and hardworking b0y .he tried t0 protect terry while they were being kidnapped and he helped his mother serving the customer and take care about his youngest brother, fr0m that we can see the responsibility behaviour shown by boon hock as a good friend and a good son . from the story 'i not stupid', i prefer boon hock's characters.. even he is in em3 but its not stop him to get good marks in mathematics..
he is really a hardworking boy.. he helps his mom to serve the customers and at the same time take care of his little brother.. he also always do exercises whenever he's in free time.. i really touched with his kindness.. he always help his friend when they got into troubles.. especially terry.. although terry didn't help him and kok pin when they cought by their principal, boon hock will help him when he is in trouble.. he will always protect his friends..no matter what happen. he will not leaving them behind..
in my opinion, parents should raise their children due to the flow of times.. show them the right things to do.. and if they do the wrong things,dont be mad straightly..gives them advices so that they can change their "navigation to the right path.." have a slowtalk with them.. spend a time with them.. observe their children's like and dislike..
for those parents who have teenagers children's.. give them a little bit freedom.. dont forcing them to do what they hate.. it didn't bring a any good to parents neither their children..

I particularly dislike Terry and Selena's parents. They can be so immature at times and demanding. They don't listen first, they just simply fire away. They don't think about other people's feeling. I love the way Boon Hock would stick up for his friends. If I were a 12 years old girl, I would totally fall for him (oops!) haha. The way he embrace mathematics is his life is very inspirational. Maybe I could do the same with other subjects that I'm not good at. Okay that's all (:
first at all. .i would like to thank to u miss for show such nice movie to us.in this movie,each person show us different character.like terry.he is very obidient to his mum.this show us terry is a very good son.but i'm not going to say selena is not a good child.it is a normal thing as teenagers grow up.they want a little bit of freedom.maybe to have time with their friends?heE~i also have through the teenagers time.sometime it is a bit hard.because i have to make the best decision for not doing something forbidden.hehe.while kok pin and boon hock,even they are in em3 class,they still try their best to give the best.so,we should not give pressure to a person that maybe not too good in their study.we MUST support them.BTW miss,in my opinion,every parents want give the best thing to their child and they have their own way.there's no parents want to see their child have a worse life in future.but they trying so hard to make their child life worth.so,each child should appreciate their parents effort!thats why i love my mum and dad so much!! :)

-first,parent should not too caring his children..sometime,child is deserve to make decision..but sholud have parentel advisory..
-parent should not force his children to do something that child not interest..human has self-advantage,so parent should know the child advantage and give support to him..

i like kok pin's character..whenever he failed in exam or do something wrong at school(which most of it are just misunderstanding),he accept all the punishment.nowadays,the world is more challenging.so,he give me courage in everything i do.i like his loyalty to his parents too.he is such a good boy even he is badly punish by his parent,he loves his parent so much.i love my mummy and daddy too!!!
i agree with everyone that sent their comment here. ba gua is the word that i cannot erase from my mind and maybe agua to. i like this movie to because it wake me up from my dream that night. there so many moral value in this movie " im not stupid ". one of it is we should respect our elders and parents. they has raise us until we became a human from a "janin" to a human being. another moral value is mother must listen to their children to, what they want and what they want to be but the mother must look after their children but give them freedom

I also agree with raja putri. I love the characters that have been act by Ang Boon Hock (his original name:Joshua Ang). Boon Hock and his mother struggle to make ends meet with an absent father by running a small wonton noodle stall, to make up for the lack of a father figure, he places high value on loyalty and "manliness" in his friends. =3
And the best part is the film ends with Terry being bullied again, as in the beginning of the movie — but this time, he stands up for himself and fights back; Mr. Khoo's business booms, and the two enemies become good friends; Kok Pin's drawings won second prize in an international competition; and Boon Hock excels in the PSLE mathematics exam :)
About the parents, it should raise their children in good manner, not punish them. If their parent rase them in bad manner, it will affect their children studies and thinking that their parent not love them anymore. It also cause the children doing something stupid like suicide their life like in the film 'I Not Stupid' that Kok Pin surrender to his study and decide to kill his self. So dont force your children, teach them in good way, InsyaAllah they will accept it in good think.

Parents should teach their children how to survive in this world WITH THE PARENTS GUIDE... Don't just let the children to do anythings... This freedom will make the parents suffer soon... But, parents shouldn't too strict while teach their children... This situation will make the children's life suffer... Yet, they will be a criminal... If the children love to d something good, just let them do... It is good for them to grow up to be a better man... The parents should trust their children... They know what is good for them...

firstly,thank to misz noorli for giving us an opportunity to watch the movie...i,ll prefer boon hock he is a courages boy.He is willing to help his mother even he is busy in improving his skills in mathemetics.Unluckily,his mother always disturbs him by commanding to do a lot of works so he don't has much time to complete his homeworks.Eventhough he is facing hardships in his life,he succeed in managing his time in order to achieve his dreams.Actually,he can pass all these barriers because of his hopeful in change his family's life.

firstly,i prefer boon hook because he is a hardworking boy.although his family is not rich like terry's family he still worked hard on his study especially mathematics subject.he divided his time equally to help his mom and study. he also did not mind to help and improve his friend in study.

Well..urm..it seems everyone favor boon hock...no doubt he is a great character, dynamic and always putting the efforts for betterment. i would say that Terry is dynamic too. Spoilt by his parents, but still made the effort within his capacity to change himself. This includes Kok Pin, using his talent for good... :)

the character i like the most in the movie is Selena because she stands for what she believes in. in the movie, Selena went against her mother constantly through out the movie about a lot of things. one of the things she argued about with her mother is when she wanted to decorate her room. her mother kept pushing and forcing her to pick and use her choice of decoration but she firmly disagree and still stood up for her choice.
In my opinion, Selena is acting normally as a growing up teenager. she wants freedom and wants to stay away from her very controlling mother. however, her mother is very peculiar about how to raise her children. she uses force until Selena couldn't stand it anymore and became rebellious. but her way of rebelling is somewhat good to make her mother realize she is not a little girl anymore.
Another trait i like about Selena is she is brave but at the same time, very daring. she dares to go against her mother and gave advise to Terry when they were having breakfast. Terry, who is very spoilt, shouted at the maid for not buttering his bread and not preparing his drink. Selena on the hand refused to having things done for her. instead of having the maid prepared her breakfast, she preferred to make it her own. it shows that Selena is matured enough to do things on her own.

i prefer boon hock..its because although he is not in a wealthy family,his determination to change is high... compare to terry,which is already born into a really wealthy family.from the movie, we can see that every family have their own problems...Liu kok Pin's family, with kok pin's difficulty in education , his mom's disease , and his father's job loss to the caucasian.Terry's family,with such an obedient son,terry, unobedient,serena..and their difficulty in their bussiness..BA GUA...haha..boon hock, although his family do not have too much problem,but he cant focus on study because he is too busy to help his family and because he is the eldest one.....In the end , all of the three family unite and they solve their problems with helping each other......that's all......HAHAHAHAHA
the character that i like in this story was kok pin's father..the reason that i like him because he is the most patient character in this story..although he had been trough many difficulty whether in his job or his family he never complain about it..1 of the problem was when his idea in the comercial of the BA GUA being stole by that english man..he never get angry in front of that english man until his work member ask him to challenge that english man in cormecialising a shampoo product..another problem when kok pin try to commited suicide and when his wife being infeccted by blood cancer...

1)boon hock is a very responsible and an independent boy. he can stood up for himself well and he take care of his friends and family.
kok pin is an obedient boy.he love his parents despite how his mother treats him.
terry is a spoil brat. he doesnt know how to take care of himself. he also cant differentiate between whats good for him or not. at his age, he shouldnt be too dependent on others.
2) i prefer boon hock's character. i want to be responsible and independent like him. beside, hes also a very hard working boy. he never give up, like when he got high mark for his mathematics exam. all this because of his hard work.
3) honestly, i dont like either terry's,boon hock's, or kok pin's parents' way of raising them.
terry's mother should give her children a bit of freedom. maybe not 100%, but at least she should give them a chance to make their own decision.
boon hock's mother should give her son time to study,hang out with his friend,enjoying life while he can. i know its not easy to run a business,but her son is still young. she should give him time before he become an adult with a lot of responsibility.
as for kok pin's mother. she should know her own son's limitation. if her son is not good at something, instead of forcing him, she should try to help him on what he has interest on.
in a conclusion, we're just a human. we're not prefect. therefore, there's always a room for improvement.

i'll prefer selena miss..she pretends herself from being her mother's 'followers'.she will do anything she wants.she brave to do that,although she knows her mother wii be angry after that,and she will scolded by her mother.but she still in her opinion.she still will do what she wants.

The character that I prefer is Boon Hock.even though, he in the class of em3 that kind of branding all the student that were in that class as a low IQ students, he still manage to get 73 marks for his mathematic's test.It is a really big achievement for a student like him.I admires the wisdom of Boon Hock to change because he doesn't want to be look down by people.I think that is all from me.

in the beginning..i think, what happen to our lecturer, inviting us to watch movie in our repeat class. hehe. then i know why. watching the movie that have many moral values. after 30 minutes watching this movie, i remembered that i have been watching this movie but already forgot about the plot of the story. i don't remember when. in my opinion this movie indirectly open our mind to realize about what the real thing happened out there. the movie really showed me about the life in world. wealthy people are not guaranteed their happiness if they think money can buy everything. and the poor are not guaranteed happiness too if they do not try to change their destiny. for example, we look to Terry's parents. the really want the best for their childrens but they don't think about their children's feeling. i think Salena will respect her mother and be a good girl if her was given a little bit of freedom. for Terry, he become so obidient in any situation because of his mother. poor for him. but at last he realize that, eventhough he was an primary school student, he has a right to make an his own decision in his life. in this discussion, i also prefer Boon Hock because he know that even he were busy to help his mother at the stall, he must complete his homework. no matter what. i love his determination. but i also think that his mathematic class teacher also have a role in the changing of Boon Hock mindset. i don't remember her name. but to me, her style of teaching was a very effective approach to her students. she successfully change their student's mindset especially Boon Hock and his friends, Kok Pin and Terry. great story brings the great knowledge. thats all from me.

I think parent should raise their child in balance condition. Not too strict, not too soft or spoil the children. Its all about balancing and how their children adopt with their parent's way :)

haha. favorite character? the first thing i thought was "owh. that boy. the paling handsome one." but then remembering to stop using just my eyes to judge people, i think of that rebelling sister of that boy who cries lyk my brother (omygod, i should try to remember names huh?) haha. after seeing how much she craved for freedom for her rights in the house, how she continuously fighting with her mom, i think she's just like me. i guess that's how teenagers are. rebel rebel rebel. especially when we want something and are convinced that we wont be getting that thing by just asking our parents. not all parents are the you-ask-and-i-give type okay? mine are very tough! so what we (me n siblings) do? we work hard for things we want. we use our own money, our own savings or whatever we can to get what we want. because when there's a want, it'll develop a need, which then will become a craving, by then, the will to do anything for it will come too :). my point is, we cant really keep on hanging on others for things we want. just like boon hock, who stands on his own feet and work hard so people will stop looking down on him. Besides that, one of the most important points in the movie is to voice out everything that's in your mind. like Selena, she voiced out about how unsatisfied she is by her mom's way of raising her kids. and like kok pin's (after reading through others' comments, i now remember their names, tq very much :p) dad, he didn't even voice out to his boss after that crazy matsaleh (who is a no brainer as we later realise after he paid 2 "hot" girls to dance for the ba gua commercial) stole his ideas and he didn't even ask his wife to stop beating the life out of their only child even if he knows how the poor boy suffers. oh yea, that reminds me of terry's father (who's lacking of anger management). He is very narrow-minded. Gosh i hate narrow-minded people lah miss. how could he simply ignored the proposal from kok pin's father n seconds later accepted the other proposal which is actually the same just because he hates the man? hurmm.. and kok pin's mom who just listen stupidly to her friends talking bad about her child. well actually, most of the em3's students' mothers are like that right? when people talked badly about their children, none of them stood by their kids. poor kok pin has to suffer at home. he's too young for all that. in this case, i respect terry's mom. being the "most responsible" mom, she always stood by her kids, motivates them, tell them what they need to know in order to survive in this world (like minding your own business and never interfere with others' hehe) and most importantly, she didn't use violence to solve a problem. instead, she used different ways like buying her daughter the sport shoes she wants. hurmm.. miss, after my long and elaborated consideration, i think i dont really have any favorite character lah in this movies. everyone is good but they also have their bad side. so i like terry's mom lah. haha. and by the way, i really2 like the part when kok pin keep on repeating the pushing-people's-head thing. hahahahaha XD LOL thanks miss for giving me the opportunity to merepek here. love you! -Seyha DK1C1
the character that i like is boon hock because wether he is in em3 class,n what we know that that the class is the class who is sit by the weak student..in the first chapter..we know that he is not interest in stdy..but as the story goes on..his mother is trying to push him hard to make sure he is better than the others..however at the same time..is mother is suffer from a disease which is can cause a dead..boon hock is feells that he is the cause of the problems..then he is trying to workhard to mke his mother wish comes true..n lastly he still going not to b better as he wish..but that is the best moment for his mother because she can see his son is trying so hard..from the story..i think a parents should raise their children like boon hock's mother...wether this is kind like cruell but it can motivte a person to become realise their mistake in her life..

Unable to face his mother, Kok Pin attempts suicide, but fails. When he finally tells her, she tries to punish him but collapses; a doctor later diagnoses her with leukaemia, and tells Kok Pin that she will die without a bone marrow transplant.Mr. Khoo passes the transplant test, but refuses to donate after discovering the intended recipient is his enemy's wife. He eventually relents, but it is revealed that due to a mix-up Terry, not Mr. Khoo, is the suitable donor. Despite protests from his parents, he insists on undergoing the operation, which is a success. A grateful Mr. Liu offers to help Mr. Khoo's business with his proposal. As a result, Mr. Khoo's business booms, and the two enemies become good friends. the character i like most is the teacher. she is the only charactr that knows how to handle problematic children. unlike others she does not jump to conclusions and take the effort to understand the children. adults should access a situation before acting.
parents should treat their children strictly but at the same time allow them to make their own decisions and mistakes so that they can learn and improve themselves. they should focus on their strength and do criticize their weakness and help them on improving themselves in ways the children can cope with. parents should never compare their children with other's and force their children to be someone they cant or do not want to be.
I prefer Boon Hock.because he is so protective. this shows when he and Terry were been kidnapped by Terry's father ex-worker. Boon Hock is also a good son. he helps his mother to take care of his little brother while he must serve the customers at the stall.

Such as, people those who always fail in exam not means his fail forever..(e.g. kok pin)
second, parents also not guard their children anytime(24 hours). This make their children felt not free add also pressure because always under control..(e.g. selena)

i prefer kok pin because he actually quite independent.it's quite touched when he decided to commit suicide just because he afraid he'll be mad by his parents.
they're really lucky because they have a teacher who willingly teach them and not jumping a conclusion about their position in EM3 class.
i think parents should have a trust on thier children and don't too force them.certain child have their own capabilities.and maybe capabilities of the children in the movie are just that.the parents should accept it and don't give up to convince their child.

although boon hock is an em3 student,(which is the last class), he is very determined to get high marks for his exams.
at the same time, he have to help his mother serve the customer in their stall. also he has to keep an eye for his younger brother while his mother was working.
despite of his busy life, he still have time to balance between study, work and friends.
he is a good friend. he loves to help his two best friend, terry and kok pin whenever they have problem.
in my opinion, parents should keep an eye towards their own children. but,in this context, dont let them to pampered if not they will be a disobedient child when they are older.

I think this story is very interesting to watch because the story revolves around family life. in this modern age, many students refuse to study hard. This story will foster the students to love science in daily life even in difficult or easy. additionally, the story also included a family life. family is important. attention is needed from parents to children, because his attitude will be formed if the family is always together with their children to educate them so that they become useful. the lesson here is a family life, we should recognize each family member with more depth and are not easily give up the challenge. =)

The movie "I Not Stupid" is the best story is showing three boys of primary school students. They have a different family background like middling, and rich.They had also working so hard life as a students and three of them is Boon Hock,Kok Pin,and Terry.They still have a parents accept Boon Hock who don't have a father.
In this story,I like Boon Hock character as a child and also as a student. He is a perfect student and a handsome boy.Boon Hock is a eldest child.He always help his friends if they have any problem.He also brave and hardworking boy.For the proof,he helps his mom to serve the customers and at the same time take care of his little brother.His time is very limited but he manage to arrage time efficiently.

The movie has many moral values for the watcher. one of the moral values that I had observed is the unlimited love of the mother to her son. The mother love her son very much, she willing to sacrifice her time on disciplining her son on his studies. This story gives a lot of teaching to me.As a students we cannot easily give up.I love this character, Bond-Hock. He is responsible for his young brother's.He always help his mother in restaurants and take care of her. He was a man of courage.

first,i want to apologize if my spelling and languange did not achieved your specification..^^..
from the movie that you showed to us last week,i can conclude a few things about the character that i like the most..it was terry..actually he has a good and pure heart,try to make his friend likes him..but he do not know how to expressed it in the right way..and of course he accidentally scars his friends heart...
hm.i prefer boon hock..although he has to work with his mother by serving noodles to the customer and take care of his little brother,,he still manage to score good marks in his examination..he is also brave and determined in whatever he is doing..

-a happy n interesting movie.theirs lots of element that is included in the movie.for example theres a sad part,a funny part,a serious type part n a happy ending kind of type. Frm my opinion,boon hock will be my type of kid that i like because he shows us a type of kid that will never give up on anyting else expcially when it comes to study math.boon hock also shows us frendship bond that is so strong between terry,kok pin and him. he also helped terry when their kidnapped together by the late manager of terry's father BA GUA company.frm where i can see,parents should treat their children more towards enjoying life instead of punishing them for not being what they expect.parents should be aware that children r sesitive n might be affected by the sall things that they heard or see.more family time should be included in ones childhood so they will actually be a children n enjoy theirselves being one.

i'll prefer boon hock than other..before, he alway failed in math..but after his math advise, he struggle to love math n score highest mark on it even his study enviroment not allowed him to him to so. Means that, boon hock kind of hardworking person and determinded. He also can manage his time well...even he has to take care of his youngest brother and their family cafe. responsibility? i think their have their responsibility but in wrong way..terry's mother should know that there will a moment where their children have to make their own decision. Terry's mother didn't teach their children how to become independent person. This make them become unmatured person. That all from me =) thanz...
assalamualaikum to all my friends.. my opinion a character in this movie is kok pin because he want to try to improve himself to be a perfect person.. besides that, he never give up even he always failed in mathematics's subject.. he also want to make his mother to be happy if he get the highest mark in exam of mathematic's subject.. therefore, he have a skills like drawing until he won a competion.. thats all.. thank you 4 teacher 2 teach me.. i love u so much.. salam 1 Malaysia.. 1 nation,1 ummah..
the character i like the most is the kid who can draw. i like him because he is patient and strong even when his mother always scold him. his mother have high hopes for him to be successful and to make her proud of him. he tried his best but he could still not meet his mother's expectation. in the end, he proved he was as good as other children, by using his talent to draw. in my opinion parents should always give their children encouragement. they should not scold their children if they perform lesser then others.
